The Al- Jazeera television network released an audiotape Sunday it said was made by Osama bin Laden. The contents of the tape are reported to be an explanation of the al Qaeda September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. The Pentagon immediately called in top FBI sound analysts to try to verify that the voice on the tape was bin Laden's.

"The shocking truth of the matter," says FBI sound analyst Chip Edwards, "is that the voice on the tape is actually Rich Little."

"It's entirely believable to think that he is involved in this horrible plot," said an another FBI agent speaking on condition of anonymity. "Rich Little is a foreigner of the Canadian variety who has basically made a career of brazenly making fun of many of our presidents and our way of life. He is a threat to Americans everywhere."

them, openly flaunting his 1995 visa restrictions forbiding any use of his unique aural weaponry. He was widely rumored to have fallen off the face of the earth in 1984 but the FBI has confirmed that he is living in Las Vegas, Nevada and working on a one man show about American Presidents.

"The INS has been after this guy for years," continued the agent. "The Reagans had him to the White House many times for the express purpose of capturing and deporting him. Reagan viewed him as a blight on our society, living within it while tearing it down, one laugh at a time."

But every time Little went to the White House he would elude agents as he left, often because he would throw Reagan's voice to get himself out of jams. He kept returning whenever invited simply to torment the Reagans and the INS.

Long time pal Johnny Carson believes Little could be behind the al-Qaeda audiotape.

"Rich has a weird sense of humor and sometimes it backfires," Carson told US Press. "He would often call my wives pretending to be me telling them it was okay if they dated Rich. He's the reason I've been married so many times. So I can see where this might be one of those jokes that backfired, and with any luck it will get that philandering menace deported back to the Yukon or wherever he's from."

Some fans hold out hope that this is all a mistake

"I can't let myself believe that a two time winner of the Cleveland Armory Award as Best Guest on a Television Talk Show would sink so low," said Gladys Smith a long time fan. "My only hope is that he is addicted to crack and took this job with the Saudis as a quick payday."
