In a statement from his campaign bunker, Governor elect Schwarzenegger (or Staten-fuhrer as he's playfully known to his friends) called for Republicans and Democrats to come together in an anschluss of bi-partisanship and find a final solution to California's Immigrant problem and crushing post-war debt.
Schwarzenegger booster and fellow party leader, Congressman Darrell Issa, characterizes Schwarzenegger's rapid rise to power as a "triumph of the will....the will of one man to struggle until he seized the American Dream...a real everyman story." Asserts Issa, "Arnold's struggle is your struggle, Arnold's struggle is MY STRUGGLE."
Issa, the powerful Republican Member of Congress whose millions started and financed the grass roots effort to recall Democrat Gray Davis, also mused, "Who would believe, that a man from such humble Austrian origins, a man laughed off as a mediocre artist, could rise so suddenly to be the supreme power in his state...I mean, where else but in present day America could such a thing happen?"
Issa appeared to be sweating through his brown shirt, however, as Schwarzenegger hinted that a "re-adjustment" of party power might be forthcoming. Relaxing outside in the crystal clear California night, the Governor-elect promised that he plans to "cut through government wastefulness like a long knife" and initiate a "blitz of sweeping reforms which will carry the state forward for the next millennium."
