11/09/2004

French and Palestinian spokesmen declared Yasser Arafat officially "not dead" three times today, up once from yesterday. The ailing Palestinian leader is reportedly vying for a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for being reported alive the most times in one news cycle. Winners from previous years have included Elvis Presley, Anastasia, Dick Cheney and Jesus Christ.

Arafat is also competing for the title of "most reported deaths," for which he is trying to edge out current title holder, Superman

Arafat celebrates moving past Jerry Garcia into the number two spot on the "most reported deaths" list.
